New Zealand series win over Sri Lanka as 2-0

New Zealand secured a 2-0 series victory over Sri Lanka in the T20 International series concluded on December 30, 2024.

In the second T20I at Mount Maunganui's Bay Oval, New Zealand posted a total of 186/5, with Michael Hay contributing an unbeaten 41 off 19 balls.

Sri Lanka, in response, was bowled out for 141 in 19.1 overs, with Jacob Duffy delivering a standout bowling performance, taking 4 wickets for 15 runs.

This 45-run victory followed New Zealand's narrow eight-run win in the first T20I, giving them an unassailable lead in the three-match series.

Sri Lankan captain Charith Asalanka expressed disappointment with the results, emphasizing the need for his team to adapt more quickly to New Zealand's playing conditions.
